How To Make Your Closing A Positive Experience

The majority of closings I’ve personally attended have been very positive moments. Buyers and Sellers meet, exchange greetings, keys and helpful information about the property being purchased. Again, most closings are generally uneventful!

On the other hand, I’ve had a handful that has been a dreadful experience. Perhaps the Sellers felt taken advantage of during the negotiations or they interpreted the contract one way while the buyers read it in another manner. Here is an interesting writing, one of the best I’ve read on the subject. It is titled, How to Avoid Closing Day Glitches - From walk-through surprises to buyer's remorse, closing day can be a nightmare. Here's how to make it go smoothly.

Remember, being an informed buyer and seller can make a difference in your transaction. Always take time to read and learn. When in doubt, ask you Real Estate Agent for assistance so that you always understand the contract and what to expect. If problems arise at the closing table, allow your agent to work on your behalf thereby avoiding a confrontation you will never forget and that might haunt you for years to come.

Selling Tip
: It is about Price, Price, Price! An overpriced house in this market is highly unlikely to sell and even if you get a contract, you may struggle getting an adequate apprasal.

Seller Guidance
: I would encourage you to employ a Realtor to help you sell your home. When your agent or another agent is showing your house, go away and let them do your work for you. I also urge you to utilize my FREE SELLERS TOOLKIT before selling your house.

Buyer Guidance: I would encourage you to really check out anything and everything you are told by a well meaning seller. Employ the services of a Buyer's Agent to help you discern what you read and listen to about the area you are thinking of calling home. I would also urge you to get my FREE BUYERS TOOLKIT before heading out on the journey to find your new house.
